This film odyssey is a day and a night in the life of Niko Fischer, a young man drifting aimlessly through the uncertainties of his own existence: breakups and casual relationships, unexpected reunions, disillusionment... but it's also a satire on contemporary art and society. Thanks to its humor, representation and subject matter, it reminds us of the films of Woody Allen and Jim Jarmusch. Jan Ole Gerster's charming generational statement can be thought of as a parallel male version of Noah Baumbach's Frances Ha. Oh Boy completely dominated the German Film Awards and won the European Discovery title at the European Film Awards.
